Welcome by Emil Urhammer

This is the web page for the project called Mapping the Mapping. This project is as a study of the concept called Mapping Controversies, developed by Bruno Latour and others.

The point of departure for the study was the mapping controversies project called Tax Wars, carried out by Søren Scharffenberg, Andreas Birkbak and Emil Urhammer at the Danish University of Technology in June 2010. The theoretical foundation for the project is Bruno Latour's English teaser for the
MACOSPOL project. Through a series of interviews and a survey, the concept of Mapping Controversies was investigated and analyzed with Tax Wars as the main example. The result of this study is presented in the paper: Dimensions in The Space of Mappings and Controversies.

During the project a deeper investigation of the notion of mapping was initiated. This investigation turned into a rather philosophical exercise inspired by Michel Serres' book Genesis. The result of this exercise can be found in the essay: The Map of Mappings.

All data collected for the project can be found and investigated on the page, together with The Map of Mappings and an illustrative video also called Genesis.
